This fellow was successful in chasing off another male interested in "his" woman, but not without a few feathers flying.

Great capture, Sandy!  I like the open beak, the feathers sticking up on the top of his head, and the position of the legs and wings. The bg is very nice, too.

Beautiful pose and the stray feather is wonderful, Sandy.  Maybe a touch more sharpening on the face?

Very cool Sandy, the floating feather is awesome. It seems a little centered to me but square crop makes it not matter so much, if that makes any sense??  The stance and open beak add a lot. Great background and foreground, both work well. Nice work!

Such a great action pose!  The egret pops off the background nicely and the floating feather adds to the action element of the image.

In some ways, it looks like it's trying to balance itself on the branch.  Regardless, it's a very nice pose and it stands out nicely against the greens in the foreground and background.  Very good exposure.

This is truly dynamic. There's so much going on here - the open beak, stance, wing position and feather floating down. All with a nice BG.
