It's always a treat to photograph new bear cubs during my spring visits to Yellowstone.

Great expression! Fine detail and color in the cubs fur. Where's mom? Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely wonderful, the needles and trunk frame him quite well. The look on his face tells it all. Only one very minor nit, I'd clone out the small twig coming into the frame in the upper left corner.

Max: the cuteness factor is off the charts. Where were you positioned for this photo? Richard

Thanks, everyone.
I was standing on the road, with a bunch of other well-behaved photographers. The hillside sloped down below and away from the road, which allowed us to get this eye-level angle once the cubs began climbing.
Mom was grazing down below the tree somewhere. At one point she did cross the road, leaving the cubs in and around the tree. That's one of those times when an experienced group of photographers will leave a large gap so as not to cut off access between mom and cubs. On this morning everyone stuck to safe, respectful distances and was rewarded with some nice photo opportunities (even though it was a bit dark).

Hi Max,
That look! Almost like he's showing off his ability to the camera. Love the overall setting also!
Cheers,
Hisham.

The sideways glance is pretty endearing. It is pretty special to get a chance for something like this from eye level perspective.

Awwww! Overload of cuteness in this one!! I like the composition you chose, and the detail is great. The expression just puts it over the top! The face of mischief is what it looks like!
