Verdin

Going back through some files from this summer to see what I never posted (I am far behind). This was form Bill's place south of Tucson. I was trying to time a take-off shot of this Verdin. I shot a quick blast of 3 shots and I got him in the first frame, by the second he was already out of frame, so they are pretty quick little buggers. Cropped to vertical

The flowers add a lot of character. Well done.

Nice timing, at least, on this frame. The open wings show off the chestnut patches to advantage. Indeed, these are very active birds even when not exiting the branch.

It only takes one frame, and this one is a keeper.  Neat shot.

Very nice, Kurt. They are an extremely active species in my experience.

Nice, Kurt.
I like the vertical crop, and the open feathers of the tail.

Great eye, diving pose, and colourful flower.
Tough little critters to catch, for sure.

Nicely composed image with nice color in the right places.  I like the sense of motion and the background makes this all work well.

These active little guys are really tough to get a good shot of.  Very nice capture.
