Repost + Metamorphosis

For me, the sight of giant glaciers caving, becoming enormous icebergs, and slowly melting away into the waves of the sea is nothing short of fascinating. Jokulsarlon is over shot, yes, but there's a good reason for that. Every day, the coastal landscape changes. New icebergs replacing older ones, some of the smaller ones melting, larger ones being torn into pieces by furious waves. It's certainly a place to witness metamorphosis!

One small point:  I think the shot would benefit from the berg being separated from the wave foam.  Maybe wait for the wave to go out more to show the dark gravel and shoot before the next one comes in.  I like it as is though.  Blues are really neat.

Very nicely done...a bit different from the typical scene from this location because of the layers of waves in the background that are actually sharp rather than softer due to longer exposure times.  (Note:  I think it's easy for nature photographers to look past this image because it has become such a familiar scene on 500px and other forums that it doesn't stand out for this audience.)

Here's a repost with a more darker moodier feel. Better?

Sairam,  Love the repost. The added contrast and overall darkening really enhanced the drama and mood, as well as showcase the ice on the black sand even better.

Sure, certainly a well-shot location and popular destination for photographers.  I know I'll never go there, so it's always enjoyment to see images from places I'll never get to experience.  thanks for sharing.

Little nit.  There's a few white dots above the wave line in the center. I realize it's water spray, the the biggest two attract the eye a little. very minor.

I prefer the original post.  While this is a commonly photographed location, I think you have made it your own.  I like the wave action that you have captured.
