2nd Chance Anhinga Displ

This was one of my favorites from my Florida trip with Mike Ramy, so I thought I'd post it again for 2nd chance week.  It was originally posted on May 5th.  I did go back and tweak the face slightly in LR.  Here's the original text from the first post:
<div style="margin-left: 40px;">There were quite a few Anhingas at the small rookery we visited in Florida.  I'd been seeing some of the males going through an elaborate display routine from vertical extension through this pose to almost upside down (I'll probably post that pose as well) but there were intervening branches in most cases.  Finally on my third and last visit to the rookery this one was displaying in the clear and Mike got the boat close enough for some decent exposures.  I do wish the sky had been clear that day, but it doesn't help to argue with the weather gods.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 mm @ 600 mm, hand held from boat, f/8, 1/800, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 7.8 MP in a 4x5 format (that's about 85% of original height, so not really a large crop-just removing a bunch of excess from the sides).  Taken at 3:31 pm on March 29th.</div>
Your comments and criticisms are really helpful and very much appreciated.

Wonderful feather detail and interesting pose.  Probably the best Anhinga shot I have seen.  Nice.

Really nice, Dennis. Great detail and the position of the Anhinga on the perch shows the wing and tail detail nicely.

Absolutely gorgeous.  I agree, best Anhinga shot I've seen, too.

Awesome capture of this unusual pose.  Congratulations in advance.  Definately worth a second chance.

Nice capture Dennis.  I've never seen them display like this.  Could the bird be a little brighter?

Detail does come through better in the larger image.  Those blue eyes are something else.

A great catch on the Anhinga, Dennis.  The slightly overcast sky really works well with the bird's plumage and the pose is great.  As presented, this is nearly b&w, except for that turquoise eye, which is a fun visual find.

Really dig the pose Dennis. I HK BG really makes him pop off the page. My tiniest nit is I wish it was placed a bit higher in the frame. Not sure if you have the extra canvas, if not would be a real easy one to duplicate. Still a very nice image either way.

Love teh pose. Really nice. I too think a bit more room on the bottom would make this even better. Well done.

Hi Dennis,

One of my favorite images from all of your posts.  This reminds me of an Audubon print due to the pose. Perhaps a higher placement in the frame and maybe a slight bump in brightness are my only suggestions.  Still, an excellent image.................Jim

Hey Dennis,
Very cool 2nd chance that was also a last chance since this was from our outing on the next to the last day of your 10 day visit on the river.
Sweet pose indeed, well seen . . .  laugh
