First Light

This image was made off the side of Highway 2 in Northern Michigan. Reportedly one of the most boring roads in the US. I thought it looked pretty good on that particular morning.

Agree!

Excellent mood ...wonderful distant light and thickening fog.  Your brightly etched name may be too significant part of the contrasting foreground drawing attn to the reeds.

Lovely photo.   Enlarge for a wall hanger.

Under the right conditions, the worst can look the best.  I would never have know it could be so boring.  The diffused lighting and painterly feel is perfect. I could see a slightly pano crop off the bottom, but wonderful as is.

Wonderfully moody Steve.  Very nice composition and post processing; actually, I can find no nits with this at all.  I enjoy everything about it.  Well done.

Steve,

Quietly beautiful.  The misty atmosphere really makes this image, even makes me feel a bit chilly, like I can feel the dampness.

I love this as is, the comp is excellent.  No nits or suggestions.

The fog and light are magical resulting in a great mood and artistic image.  Wouldn't change anything.  Just print it large and enjoy.

I really love making images from unexpected situations too. This is just gorgeous, can't find anything to criticize.

Really well done, Steve. Old School. No creative postprocessing or unusual cropping or camera angle. Just great light at a special time of day.

Steve, your composition is an appealing play with diagonals and light to my eye. Furthermore, the careful processing of colors makes for a beautiful natural look in my opinion.

Sweet light and mood in this beauty, Steve. It does not get any better than this. It is pretty amazing how the right conditions can transform an ordinary scene.

Beautiful image.  The fog and diffused light gives your image a wonderful, painterly feel to it.  Fine work.

This is such a fine image, thanks in large part to the soft atmosphere and the warm glow of the rising sun.  It's really quite stunning.  Absolutely no critiques from me.

Love the mood and the quiet, painterly feel to this. The mist puts it over the top, and I can almost here the soft sounds of the birds (which aren't pictured but which I imagine are there!) Just beautiful.
