I just returned from my first trip to Bosque. It was an amazing place. This was taken at the crane pools in the early morning light. A special thanks to Keith Bauer on his recommendations for a first timer.  Processed using Lightroom CC (2015) and Photoshop CC (2017) along with Light Craft's LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

For a first visit this is excellent. For any visit, this is excellent. Nice timing to get both birds in the same flight position, with excellent DOF and detail. And the definitive Bosque colored background is wonderful as well.

I recognize that place!!!   cool  Very nice Jerry.  Great fight pose of that pair of Sandhills.  Nice sharpness on the heads.

Glad I was able to help out with some recommendations on places to be and at what time.

The Bosque Del Apache is a very special place for me.

WOW! You really captured the essence of the refuge in one shot. Very good DOF for f:6.3 getting both cranes tack sharp considering those wing spans. The place is magic without a doubt and like everyone who visits will feel the tug to return every couple of years. Thanks for sharing this wonderful image! devil

An excellent image of this pair, Jerry.  Amazing job getting both birds in nice focus at f/6.3-even at 420 mm.  I like the way you have the birds framed and the wing positions work very well with two birds.

This is superb pair in flight, Jerry.  I'm glad Keith was there to guide you, as he has been helpful there to me as well.  Wish I could capture such synchronicity.  Not only is it classic Bosque morning light, but the comp and angle of the approaching subjects are perfection.  This is likely the best duet flight image I've ever seen devil

I really like the point of view on this image and the fact that you are able to get both cranes in really sharp focus.  The identical position of both birds against the tan grassy background is quite nice.  I'm more of a fan of less centered images but this will do just fine.

Really nice double Jerry. I like how the BG bird mirrors the same movement. Good decision on DOF as well.
BTW, I have to apologize. I got your email and meant to email you back, but then I got super busy between my job and traveling back home that I spaced out. I am glad to see Keith was able to help. Hope you had a great trip and I won't forget to respond next time.
