Where white boys dance

(with apologies to the band "The Killers") ;)

One of my aims on my recent trip to Etosha was to capture some solid images of the iconic white elephants (due to the clay and dust they apply to their bodies).

Understanding animal behaviour, predicting animal behaviour, and a stroke of luck, can make you reap some nice photographic rewards. Read the full story on my blog: http://bit.ly/WhiteElephants

Techs:
Nikon D3s
Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR-II @ 70mm
f11  |  1/1250 SS  |  ISO-560

Amazing shot and amazing that you were able to get both in focus. You managed to capture the essence of these magestic creatures. Well done.

Hey Morkel,

Very nicely done - always a challenge to deal with multiple subjects...regardless of their colour! enlightened

Techs are bang on (good job on stopping down far enough to keep both subjects within the sharpest region of the DoF) and I like the "front vs. side-view" they gave you.

Cheers...

Brad

Thanks everyone.
Ken - Etosha was great! We were there just before the rains came, so hot and plenty of wildlife around.
