House Finch II

Another plumage variation from the same session as the last post.  We're having a cold clear day and I spent some time in the blind this morning with reasonable success.  They're predicting snow tomorrow, so that might make for an interesting session as well.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 562 mm, Jobu gimbal mounted to blind window, f/8, 1/200, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, fill flash at -1 2/3 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 16.2 MP before resizing.  I must have accidentally turned the automatic crop proportions off because I ended up with a 1:1.4 ratio.  Taken at my back yard feeding station at 10:34 AM on December 4th.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice pose and head turn.  The detail is superb.  This one has more saturation than the last one you posted.  Maybe it's just the bird and its diet.  This House Finch really pops against the background.

Exceptional detail in this finchy - and a sly look over the shoulder.
Mixed feelings about the BG - I think I'd try to blur it more - the little lines are distracting, imo.
Sweet!
