Yes, you have seen this before. This is a re-work, taking into consideration the many helpful comments and suggestions, especially from Keith, after my first posting.
The old, original version won a Judge's Choice award at the 2016 NANPA yearly contest, and this one is much improved, I hope - so this is the one that will be published.

Sandy,

I like it very much and on my recent trip to South Africa I was able to observe a similar situation. Unfortunately the actors always posed inadequate for a photo.

Congratulations to the award devil

Not only did you capture an awesome behavior display, they just so happen to be one of the most beautiful bird species in the world (in my opinion). The Roller family is perfectly situated on a wonderful tree limb, and are pleasingly composed.
A Beauty devil

Congratulations on the "Judges Choice" award Sandy!!! This image certainly deserves such recognition!

It's a remarkable scene, Sandy.  I love the placement of these three and the behavior you captured.

Since it's an award winner, I probably shouldn't be mentioning making changes, but because of the symmetry created by the three birds, I really want to see that "triangle" centered... either in this horizontal composition or as a tighter vertical.  The three points of color really make the image, and should draw the eye inward, IMO.

Another award winner!  Great poses and sharpness on all 3 subjects.  Love the perch and composition.

Max, ALL comments and suggestions always welcome and appreciated!  EVERYthing can be better in some way, most of the time.
I'm not sure I can change the crop when i submit a high-resolution copy for the publication, but i will ask, as I agree with you about the centering.

Hey Sandy!  It's been a while.... hope you are doing well.  From the looks of this photo I think so.  What beautiful subjects, and nothing like getting all three sharp in one shot.  Excellent!

I have not seen the previous one, but this one is so great.
Amazing how you could get those three beautiful birds. Well done!
