Nikon D 800
Nikon 80-200 @ 200 mm
f 22 @ 1/10 sec.
ISO 200
MLU & cable release
tripod

I know that I said no more Tarn images, but I found a couple more that I liked so I hope you can bear with me for a couple more. If you ever make it to Acadia NP you owe it to yourself to head over to the Tarn after shooting the sunrise.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

I keep intending to get up to Acadia for fall, Ed, and your images, especially these tarn shots, have made this imperative. Another beauty here. So where exactly is this tarn? (Feel free to email me with the answer). Really love these shots.

Another fine tarn image, Ed. The water looks like molten golden metal with just the right amount of wind movement to smooth out the reflections.devil

I have enjoyed the tarn pictures. I like that the colors are intense but in a restrained way. It always amazes me when viewing images here of what can become and made of sometimes mundane scenes. That is why someone with a creative eye can find.

A witches' brew of color and texture, Ed.  I also like this with some of gold cropped, but either way a real nice image.

Ed,

I too have enjoyed the tarn images you have posted.  The color is certainly intense, yet still believable.  I'd be very curious to see the overall scene as to what is getting reflected. But actually, the mystery makes this what it is.

As an alternative, you might consider two alternatives; one a slight crop from the top which brings more emphasis to the color and reflections, and then second, the opposite with a slight crop from the bottom to bring the grasses more emphasis.  either way, including your original, are still beautiful and almost mesmerizing.

Thanks for the comments and crop suggestions everyone; always appreciated.
Lon: Here is an image that may give you an idea of a more literal scene.
