Over the River

This lovely maple tree hangs over the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. I intentionally used a slower shutter speed to bring ut the streaks in the water. As has been mentioned in posts by Lon, the higher water flow in Yosemite made for a much different experience than is usual for Autumn when the river or creeks were included in images.

Nikon D-7100
18-140mm Nikkor
1/2 second @ f-16, ISO 100
Extensive use of TK's masks and burn layer.

Please see the large version. Thanks!

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Preston,
Very tranquil scene and I love the colors in the water that are reflected from the trees.

... and thru the woods... ;-)  Sorry, couldn't resist.

Beautiful Merced River scenic Preston.  Perfectly processed as well.  A terrific composition and I really like  you've included enough of the river to make it it's own complimentary element to the scene; the reflected color and streaks in the water are a great addition to the scene.

Well done sir.  I really like this one.

Beautiful, Preston. Well composed and a fine combination of elements (tree, large rock, and streaking water). I like it as is; no nits or suggestions from me.

Very nice - I like the golden maple leaves with some of the contrasting green of the background pine trees.  The streaks work well while the golden reflection adds further interest in the water.  Nicely captured!

A rich scene Preston. Nice job on the streaks for water interest, and I like the gentle processing. Yosemite is really a candy store in the fall; I wish I lived closer.

Beautiful work, Preston. Those yellow leaves stand out from the background so precisely. I always appreciate the detail in your work. I think the composition could have been a bit stronger.

You guys had some outstanding conditions this last trip.  Beautiful image, Preston.  I love the lazy flow of the river coupled with the wonderful fall colors and their reflection. Nice.

I really like your close-up composition here, Preston!  Lots to look at and both color and texture contrasts make it very interesting. Nice shot!

You guys came away with several wonderful images from your Yosemite trip, Preston. The water streaks along with the reflected color of the maple are gorgeous as is the overhanging maple. Really nice mood here.
