These are Lotus pods and sunken leaves from a local lotus pond that no longer exists. An exotics gardener died many years ago. His children carried on and grew the business by adding h ome koi pond gardening. Two of the kids recently passed and the remaining two are now too old, so they sold the business. There was a stipulation in th sale that the new owner maintain the lotus pond, as it is a favorite little hidden gem of local residents. I went by there a few weeks ago. The pond showed signs of being overturned for the new apartments to be built. Evidently, that "stipulation" was in handshake form only. Sad that people don't honor their promises anymore. A handshake or a "man's word" meant it was good as done when I was younger. Not so now.

A very fun composition, Lori.  I wish the odd ball had been in the lower right corner as I think it would have balanced the image a little better, but it's still a fine image.
