Pinus sylvestris II

Another image from the same day as 'Pinus sylvestris I'. An overcast August morning. A photo friend and I were looking for dragonflies and such, but no luck. The free standing large pinus sylvestris served as an alternative. All C&C very much appreciated of course.

Techs: Canon 40D, Sigma 150, iso 100, 2.5 sec, f/16, CPL, tripod, cable release, LR adjustments and some 'Kuyperism'.

It's a little pine duckie drinking out of a small container... A great close up look at this bark, Igor. I like the warmth and am grinning broadly about the subject. Not quite a dragonfly, but a ton of fun.

I love the textures and colors in this one, Igor. Looks like you could be looking at sandstone formations.

Scots Pine to us "people of the dirt". An introduced species, now naturalized In the NE and Lake States. Big in the Christmas tree market. I've not dealt with it, being a forester in the SE. An interesting view of the bark platelets. Are they normally this smooth?

Igor, this is a cool little detail shot. Colors and processing look great. I might try a crop to remove the dark area in the ULC, but that's minor.
