Junco
by Dennis Plank
Hopefully, we'll be getting more of the winter birds in before long, but it's been an incredibly warm November thus far. This is from the same day as the Jays I posted, though in this case the flash didn't fire. I think it turned out fairly well anyhow, though it did take some work to tame the bg. I like the crease in the head plumage-should make it readily identifiable for the winter.
7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 531 mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind windowsill, f/10, 1/250, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 14 MP in a 4x5 format before resizing. Taken at 11:27 on November 11th.
Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

5 commentsI've enjoyed your series of Juncos. One sweet image!
The colors are beautiful, the catch light is great and the pose is spot on. Nice job Dennis.

Funny little ding in the forehead, or lost feathers, or whatever it is!
Nice work!
