Sunrise @ Sand Beach ANP. Please excuse the sloppy selection technique. There's some funky stuff going on along the horizon. I overexposed on this morning and tried burning in the sky some.

*g* Bit of a halo certainly, but boy the texture and color of that water is amazing.  I wish I could walk right in there.

I like the warm light (especially on the cliff) and etheral look to the water amid the rocks, Michael. The color in the sky looks great to me, but maybe cut back on the magenta cast in the water? You certainly have a fine collection of images from Acadia this year.

Very nice. Surprised the level horizon police haven't commented.  Great light and capture of the water.   certainly a worthwhile adventure for you!

I like your Acadia Park images...coloring here is a little overwhelming and a little too saturated.

A classic composition of modern landscape photography where the creator takes wide liberties with color. This is really well done once you buy into it. If you go the route that the sea is wine colored then shouldn't the water in the right cove not be green? The sea color on the right side is a bit confusing at first. The other nits are small: 1) there's a noticeable halo between land and sky 2) the small island on left horizon should be removed. In spite of these comments this is really an exceptional image, done with great love and care. The composition is first rate and the SS gives a great sense of movement to the near rocks. I would be interested in seeing this image where the sea is no so magenta as a comparison.

I'm afraid I'll have to be the dissenting voice. The colors don't work for me. There is also a very noticeable halo along the rock/trees - sky interface.

Thanks to all for the comments. I dialed the magenta in the water back to where it's pretty much how it came out of the camera. The rest of the image is @ 20 points saturation. The color of the water on the right and bottom is from the sand which is showing through.

Michael, This is a wonderful scene and I'm really enjoying this comp / view. It's beautiful but does come across as to saturated for me. The repost is better but could still go even more towards less saturated I think. I do know that sometimes the natural colors can almost look unreal and that could have been the case here. Such a pretty scene.

I dialed the saturation back to where it looks like the raw file out of the camera.

Nice. The final repost works best for me, but that is very much a personal taste. I am generally not a fan of heavy saturation.
