First Frost - WC 760

Scott, you beat me to it!  :)

Northeast Florida has changed a lot in the last few years for whatever reason (purposefully being non-political here), and I haven't seen anything like this in a long time.  But we used to have a lot of leaves, and we used to have frost, and this is an image from a few years ago that was just like you see it here.  I didn't arrange it.

I imagine that I did some things to make it look like it does with the saturation, etc., but I don't remember what.  But whatever it was it made this file really large, so I could only post an 800 megapixel file here.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Barbara:  Something about the jpeg compression algorithm uses a lot more memory for dark and detailed images.  If you have lots of nice uniform areas, the files are pretty small, but with something like this they tend to be pretty large.  I really like the detail in this one.  It looks like it had a contrast boost of some kind, but I like the effect regardless.  Very well done.

Very nice fall color with good shape and texture.  I also like the contrast in this one.

Barbara, the details, the colors and the subtle frost on all of the leaves looks wonderful here.  What ever you did colorwise fits perfectly as the colors look good.

This is a keeper!  The mix of shapes & colors are cool.  But its the zooming-in view and shadows that bring out the leaves tumblling texture -  exceptional!

The randomness of the leaf arrangement (sometimes nature does OK enlightened), the mix of subtle colors, and the sharpness are what makes this image stand out.  Well done.

Excellent work - the soft colours and detail make this work SO well.
Congrats on the WP!
and PS:  aren't you the one awhile ago who said you had decided you weren't really a photographer and weren't going to continue.....I hope the last weeks of very positive comments and WP's have changed your mind. laugh
You are a GREAT photographer.
You just learned to see all the prospects in your own back yard, local parks, and other nearby areas. Absolutely NO need to travel for great images.
