Very nice, Barbara.  I've never seen a Gallinule perched up like that and it makes for an excellent composition.  On my monitor, it looks just a tiny bit bright, but I wasn't there, so that's just a guess.

Very nice, Barbara. If it were mine, I might use the Highlights tool to pull the brightest areas down a little bit.

I've never seen a Gallinule perched out in the open like that. If this kid keeps dong it, he's not going to reach adult plumage.indecision

Thanks, Dennis and Jim.  I can make it less bright, but I'm wondering what the Highlights tool is in PS6?  Is this a case of, like my grandmother and mother used to say, "If it was a snake, it'd have bit you"?

I like the pose you managed in this one Barbara. On my monitor, the exposure looks maybe a 1/3 (at most 2/3) over, but pretty close to being right on and think it works fine. If mine, I would be tempted to crop this as a vertical 4x5 and loose a tiny bit from the left and take the rest off the right side to rid the image fo the BG OOF plants.

Lovely setting and light Barbara.  Nice to see it perched up on the reeds

Nice post Barbara, I was wandering of you saw any mature Purple Gallinules with it, because looking at the beak I'm thinking it might be an immature Swamphen.  The Swamphen is just as colorful, and is larger (it's been call described as a Purple Gallinule on Steroids). Either way, beautiful bird.

Actually, I did see adult Purple Gallinules, and I guess I just haven't posted one.  I'll see what I have. :)  Thanks!
