Interesting bird, Ken; it looks more like a lapwing than a plover. Good light, very nice detail in the wings, tails and neck. I wonder if the Shadows tool might let you tease some detail in the blacks?

The raised foot is great, Ken.

Great capture of this little guy (gal) Ken. The environment works well and the raised foot adds to the image too.

It really does look like a lapwing in many ways..  It also looks like a Pacific Golden plover which I had seen in Iceland when I was there last year.  There were a lot of them.  I really like this image.   The foot really makes it happen.

Thanks everybody, much appreciated.
Lapwing or Plover?
These terms seem to be largely interchangeable and are dependent on where you live "Birds of Africa" lists this  as Crowned Lapwing (Plover)
