Wet Woodland Scene

A Spring shot of a wet woodland landscape.  A variety of trees have colonised the area - especially sycamores and hawthorns here in blossom, and they mix with the native willows and the sweetflag rising from the muddy pools.  I wanted to keep a sense of the somewhat chaotic nature of this environment and have cloned nothing.

I think the composition is good. The flowering tree in the background seems a bit hot to me.

This has a real nice deep in the woods feel. I love the rich green colors. There is a lot going on, but I find the repeating vertical lines really hold it together well. Nicely done.

There is a lot going on in the scene, Ian, but it comes across as well composed and balanced and not too chaotic. The spring greens are very attractive, as is the bloooming tree in the back.

Nicely organized chaos, Ian...a good balance in the image. There does seems to be a green tint in the Sycamore trunks and the blooms.

Lovely. You've composed a nice scene out of the chaos. Remind's me of Robert Glen Ketchum's work.

Ian, Nice work coming up with a comp that works well here. This image puts me right into the Wisconsin River low lands right near my home here. Nice spring greens and the blossoms.

You've done a fine job of organizing the chaos, Ian, while there is a lot going on here, it's easy to look at with the trunks on the left creating an area of stability.  The various greens and textures are pleasing as well.  I would suggest some burning of the blooming tree.
