The hummingbird kept coming back to this perch so it was easy to set up for this shot.

Canon 7d II
Sigma 150-600 at 500 mm
1/125 at f6.3
ISO 100
Tripod
Processed in LR and PS

Comments and suggestions appreciated.  Thanks.

Nice Rufous image.  You did a good job with low iso and low shutter speed.  Is this a recent shot?  No hummingbirds up here in Washington this time of year.  I think they all went south to California.

Nice shot of the hummingbird with good detail, Allen.  I'm puzzled by the amount of noise in the bird as I can't account for it with your shooting parameters.

Beautiful colors and detail.  I can't see the noise in the bird, which is probably going to cause a problem with my own shooting.

Thanks for the comments.

David: Taken in April at Finley NWR between Eugene and Corvallis.  Just got around to posting.
Dennis: I don't see the noise you're referring to.  I enlarged this to 500% in Photoshop and still can't make out noise.

A nice image of this pretty little hummer. I wonder if it could be brightened up a bit?

Wonderful pose and detail.   Could go slightly brighter?  A more natural perch would improve this fine image.
