Zinnia angustifolia ‘Classic’

10/18/2016 – 9:34:25 AM
Canon EOS 7D Tamron 90mm
1/400 sec;   f/8;   ISO 640
Manual;   Spot metering
LR5, PS6, Topaz DeNoise, Topaz Detail, 88% of original

I don't know if these Zinnas were still "okay" or were starting to fade, not in color, obviously, but for the season.  The colors were still very bright, though.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Well done, Barbara. Excellent dof managment at f8. The subject still looks good. The reds are well rendered. I could see brightening the yellow center just a pinch just to give it more pop but this is fine as is.

Nice composition.  The red petals really shine and there's good detail in them.

This blossom certainly looks in perfect condition, Barbara.  In this case, I think it might work better with the full depth of the flower in focus, though that's always a matter of taste.  It also feels to me as if a touch more canvas on top might be in order.  I love the subtle lighting on the petals and the center florets are beautiful.

Wonderful comp, color, and detail, Barbara!  Nice bg, too. Although it's near the end of the season, this flower seems to be in excellent condition.

One of your best, Barbara. For my taste, it could use a little more breathing room and be brighter, but that is just me. Good work!
