Canon EOS 7D EF400mm f/5.6L USM
1/800 sec;   f/7.1;   ISO 640
Manual;   Spot metering
LR5, PS6, Topaz DeNoise, Topaz Detail, uncropped

I realize the light/shadow line in the background crosses behind its head, but it seemed to me that the head stood out well enough anyway so that I didn't do any burning of the background to extend the shadow up over his head.  What do you think?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Beautiful and flattering light on the bird. The shadow line behind the bird doesn't bother me at all.

The shadow/light line doesn't bother me a bit, Barbara.  Gorgeous light and a nice pose on a bird that we rarely see posted.  Excellent work.

I like the pose and the lighting and detail on the head.  The background compliments the lighting on the head.  My only thought would be to lighten the body a bit to help it stand out from the background.

Very nice Barbara.  Nice work on the exposure.  I'm not bothered by the light/shadow line.  While not ideal, it doesn't distract that much.

Wonderful pose, light and saturation in this image.  You handled the noise in the background well.

The light on this is very nice.  That is the first thing that struck me when I looked at the thumbnail.   I don't see any problem with the shadows.

Wonderful light on this one Barbara. I like it as posted. The intersecting shadow does not bother me at all.

Lovely light and nice detail on the Limpkin, and the background colors are gorgeous. The background line bisecting the head isn't an issue for me. Nice work.
