Spring Rodeo in the Rain

This was from several years back at the Auburn California rodeo. Needless to say it was a bit wet that week and the arena was about a foot and a half deep in mud. Made for a fun and exciting rodeo. You should have seen the wild steer racing event, steers dragging cowboys through that mud. I took this with my first DSLR, Canon EOS Rebel, f5.6, 1/640 sec, iso 400, 70-300 IS lens at 260 mm, handheld.

Very colorful and very muddy, Ed. Catching the mud spattered cowboy still biting his mouthpiece says clearly that his turn has just ended and the look on his faces suggests that it wasn't very successful.

Fun photo, with the expressions of the cowboys faces saying it all. Sure is an icky looking thing coming out of his mouth, adding to the overall effect.

Hey Ed,
Very colorful, very muddy and very cool, the expressions on the faces indeed say it all. The 3 comments ahead of me said it all. I do get a feeling the image is tilted and needs some CCW rotation based on the gate post at the right side edge.

Kathy that is a 'Mouth Piece' worn by athletes to help keep from get'n their teeth knock out.
