Part Deux in the journey of a hungry seagull scavenging for food near Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA. From scraps of beach goer's lunches, to a fight for a potato chip bag to this glorious find! Jonathan Livingston starts his meal with fish tartare. A side of salt water finished the dish!

Nice action and I like the position of the gull in the frame better in this than in the first image, Lori.  I do think it could use a bit more room on the top of the frame as it feels a bit tight.  Good exposure and detail.

An interesting angle on this Greater Black-backed Gull, Lori, and a good capture of a gull being a gull. The whites and blacks are always an exposure challenge but you managed them nicely.

It's always helpful to post your shooting data: aperture, shutter speed and ISO, at a minimum; it will get you a more informed critique. I assume "sport mode" is a programmed feature that manages those things automatically. A narrower aperture than the automatic mode gave you, f16 or so, might have let you get the tip of the bird's tail in focus, for example. I agree with Dennis that the composition feels a bit tight at the top.
