Grasshopper

The hopper was not placed or moved, nor is this a studio shot. Shot outdoors in natural light in the local public gardens. No flash. I did carefully and gently move some stems out of the scene to get a clean shot. It was a cool day, and the hopper was moving slowly. D600, 150 sigma macro f2.8 @ f18, iso 500, 1/50, tripod.  Questions, suggestions, and other comments welcome. crying

A beautiful shot, Scott.  The colors in the flower are very eye catching.  I especially like the curls around the flower center.  All that color really sets of the grasshopper, with it providing the extra interest that makes this an outstanding shot.

The large version is great Scott. Nice detail and colors. I love the curly petals.
