Nice interaction captured, Barbara. I think a crop to 75-80% of full frame would make it more intimate and give you more detail. It would mess up the pretty ripples, but focus on the subject.

Very nice capture Barbara.  You caught a great interaction between mom and chick.  I have seen few gallinules, and zero gallinule chicks.  I think the ripples frame them nicely, while Jim's cropping suggestion would also be worth a shot.

Thank you, Jim and Jim.  I've tried a crop here which keeps the top and bottom of the ripples.  What does anybody think about this?

Great interaction, Barbara.  I really like the cropped version.  Plenty intimate, yet with enough of the ripples left to keep their effect.

Well done.

Hello Barbara:

The repost looks much better - there are enough ripples to add a nice element. You caught a very nice moment in great light. I like the color palette too.
