Brazilian Tapir

Here's another from our August Pantanal tour in Brazil.  This species is normally very wary but we were able to get out of the van and slowly walk up to this tapir drinking at a waterhole at Pousa Alegre Lodge.  Here I think he is trying to figure out what we are.

Well composed.  F5 works well.  He gave you a nice head turn and some excellent eye contact.  Thanks for posting this seldom seen species.

Handsome, huh? enlightened  My only wish to improve this strong portrait would be for more depth of field to include the end of nose in the focus zone.

Cool, Nate. Is this the tapir that one of the lodges rescued and raised? He's kinda/sota habituated to people and turns up at the lodge from time to time.

Thanks for your comments.  I agree I should have used a bit more depth of field.
Jim, this is not a habituated tapir, it is fully wild.  This was taken quite away down the road from the lodge buildings.  There were 2 that came to drink actually.
