Beauty Creek, Jasper NP
On a tip from some folks we met on a raft ride we did the hike up the Beauty Creek trail. It is aptly named! I have lots of shots from the creek that will find their way into the Landscape Gallery at some point but I thought I would post this one here as it was the leaves that caught my eye. I wanted the BG falls to be completely blurred but also wanted a very shallow DOF. I used the 10 stop ND filter in a number of combinations of ISO and SS and this seemed the best result. All comments welcome. >=))>

Looks like you found the right combination! The leaves stand out clearly.

I think this is a great combination.  The leaf colors really stand out, and the rest of the colors work so well together.

You said this was a hike up a trail.  So you took this from a trail?  I can only imagine how close to the edge you were standing!

Well seen and captured, Bill. I like the yellow and aqua color combination and the shape of the largest (lower) branch hanging out over the water. Good job to blur the water and let the branches stand out. In this regard, I might crop a little off the top to simplify the image a bit more even thoguh this may mean cropping some of the upper leaves. Very minor suggestion.

I'm amazed you could pull this off, Bill.  I'm assuming that the branch was pretty close to the falls and they usually create enough breeze to bounce branches like this around quite a bit.  A really cool composition, and I love the blurred falls bg.

Nice, Bill. It is always a special treat to see places like this. Definitely on my bucket list! I agree with Scott about the top center left. Either a small crop or selective blurring might be an answer.
