Hi Kayla. The flower itself is very striking, Kayla, and looks good. The comp is fine. The busy and contrasty background, which contains bright greens, blown out yellows, large dark areas, and unattractive browns, detracts from the flower. In flower photography, the background is just as important as the main subject. Try to isolate your main subject against smooth, out of focus, backgrounds which let your main subject stand out. Try to avoid unpleasant and unwanted elements in the bg.

Kayla, the colors and brightness of the flower jump nicely off the page. The out of focus (oof) greens add some good context The blown out yellows are a distraction. In much of photography and in macro work especially, it's the background that separates the great from the good. In looking at this image, I can see myself moving the camera up and down trying to either get a mostly green or a mostly dark background.
