Dark Fire

Another shot from our Rio Tinto tour. One of the aims of the shots I was taking was to explore the combined effect of frozen surface movement with the structures that lay beneath the water's surface.  This image has received only minimal processing and no filter has been employed, the colours being due to the dissolved metal salts and the microorganisms that grow on the river bed.

Here I have uploaded a 1440 pixel image ... If the larger version is too large a 1200 pixel version can be found HERE

Sigma dp3 Quattro, F5.6, 1/125 sec., ISO 200, -0.3 EV.

An amazingly colorful collection of fine shapes here, Mark.  The crispness of the structures under the water is terrific.

Fantastic Mark. This really has a fiery look. Nice textures with freezing the action. Good all the way through.

Really love the abstract nature of this subject. The details look a bit soft but I think that's the nature of the subject versus the way it was captured. I think this image has a very nice dynamic quality too with a line discernable as it races from the LLC to the URC. Beautifully done
