Touch down
by Peter J. Morrissey
Staying with Swans, I photograph this one at South Cove in Old Saybrook, Ct. , with the help of a mono pole. The shot is a 16/9 photograph and cropped by 50%. I used Lightroom 5 to help with the whites. I know the shot is more center then I would like, but I rand-out of room on the right side of the frame and at a 50% crop I didn’t it think I should push it anymore.

2 commentsThe flight path was almost head on to the viewer and I’d say that there’s no case for more canvas on the RHS of this shot. In this this touch down event the swan is ‘here and now’ having flown through masses of three-dimensional space. In your take, the fact that you have slightly more canvas on the LHS is most appropriate. Well done.
