Osprey

I posted the take-off shot a frame or two before this back in April, but I liked this one with the bit of vegetation caught in the talons just as much and thought I'd post it.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 260 mm, hand held from Mike Ramy's boat, f/7.1, 1/3200, iso 500 manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 16.4 MP before resizing.  Taken at 10:12 AM on March 29th on the St. Johns river in Florida.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice detail, and I also like the vegetation on the claws.
Mixed feelings about the leaves and stuff on the right, though.

I really like the position you have captured on this, Dennis. I agree,  the vegetation in the talons adds interest. Normally the portion of the tree in bottom right would not appeal to me, but on this image it helps convey that the Osprey has just came out of a tree. Very nice detail in the Osprey. Awesome image!!!!

I like the grasses in the talons too Dennis. I think the leaves in the corner add some depth to the image. Like Matt said it gives the impression of taking flight. Nice detail in the Osprey too. Nice work!  devil

Sweet take off shot Dennis, with this pose I think it makes sense to have the vegetation on the right. devil
