Butterfly Dreams

I am hoping for some feedback as I try to expand my PS skills. This one was inspired by the macros of Mike Moats, whose work is featured in the Gallery of the Month. Would like to know if the white grass is just an unnecessary distraction and if the tonal contrast is enough in this image. Is there enough focus? It is meant to look kind of dreamy but I wanted the butterfly to look sharp. Thanks in advance.

This is so beautiful, Kathy. IMO the butterfly is rendered just as it should be. I wouldn't change a thing.

Hi Kathy, the picture has a beautiful fairytale like finish - wonderful!  I think the white grass adds to the composition which is almost like a butterfly in a snowstorm ... The colour palette is also spot-on! Skills expanded I would say enlightened ...

I think you accmplished your goal in an extraordinary way, Kathy. I would not change a thing.  The white of the grasses does not overwelm the image at all but lends to the abstract quality, and the sharpness of the butterfly is just enough.  Beautiful work.

Congratulations on the weekly pick.  Glad to see others experimenting with the photo art.  Its fun and if it works, like this does, very rewarding.

Beautiful and different. The pastels and subtlety blend wonderfully. I personally might darken the white grasses a tad.
Congrats on a fine WP!
