Coldwater Lake

Coldwater Lake was formed when Mt. St. Helens erupted and ash and debris dammed up Coldwater Creek.  From what I recall, man-made tweaks were necessary to prevent the lake from breaking through and causing another flood down the Toutle River.  The level of the lake is constantly monitored.
