Mating Lions can always be relied for some interesting poses, this one popped out of the bushes and smiled at us.

You call this a smile, Ken?
Great expressions, it seems you forgot to attach the larger file. Could be after effects of this smile.

Well, that's certainly eye-catching. Excellent.

Hi Ken,
If that's a smile, I wouldn't want to see its scowl!
While obviously the draw here is the face of the lion, I'm wondering if the lighting has been "over-worked" here - to me this one appears almost TOO low in contrast in the head region (i.e., too much shadow retrieval). Based on the shadows on the lion's left leg, this appears to be a side-lit shot...and sidelighting can add great drama to a shot. Given this shot is about drama...I think removing the added drama of the lighting potentially weakens the shot. Ever since "shadow" sliders started appearing in post-processing software everyone seems to hate shadows...and they can be such powerful contributors to image success.
Cheers...
