Swallowtail (WC)

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted September 7, 2016163 views3 comments

Rather than go out and shoot a school bus, I searched my archives for something yellow that I never posted. So here's a Swallowtail image from 2013. D600, 150 macro w/ tc @ 210, 1/2000, f8, iso 1000 (cropped about 10% and resized for web). Taken outdoors at local public gardens. Thank you for viewing. Suggestions and other comments welcome. crying

The Swallowtail really fits the challenge, Scott, and that's one major yellow bg. Cool image.

To me, a photo where yellow dominates, fits the definition of the challenge. Not only do you have a yellow butterfly but you have a yellow background. So this fits the definition. And, there are two shades of yellow which allows the butterfly to stand out from the more saturated background. I like it.

Scott, beautiful yellow swallowtail against a yellow background. I like the point of view and the OOF flower in the background. Very nice!
