Osprey With Salmon

Became acquainted with a good spot to photograph Osprey catching Kokanee (land locked) Salmon that have turned red for their spawning activity.  The red fish adds a nice contrast in the photo.  I am assuming these Osprey are juveniles based on their behavior, and the frequency of misses on their dives.  I'm no Osprey expert, but I think the adults may have already left on their migration.  Comments/Critique always appreciated.

This is a memorable picture because of the red salmon...a beautiful catch by the Osprey and by you. Wonderful shot.

Excellent, Ralph.  Glad to see you posting again.  The red of the salmon is amazing and really pulls the eye into the action.  Nice exposure in the whites and the detail in the larger image is outstanding.

Hi Ralph,

The color of the salmon adds some additional positive features to a wonderful scene.  Osprey is nice and sharp with a perfect wing position for your composition.  Well done.......................................Jim

Ralph, this would be a cool capture with any fish in those talons but...that red salmon really kicks this one up a notch. Great wings up flight pose. Nice detail showing in the Osprey. Well done!
