Orange-Barred Sulpher

This is one that I took in the butterfly tent. I wish that this butterfly would have settled down with his wings open to show the orange bars on the top of the wings that I caught fleeting glimpses of when he was flying around, but I still like it's beautiful yellow color.

Canon 60D, 70-300@210mm, f/8, 1/320, ISO800.

I like the colors and details you have captured in this image. Certainly can be frustrating trying to catch the wings open, but fun to try. thanks for sharing.

You've got a fine look at this bf, Barb. The mix of colors with the yellow bf, the pink/magenta flowers and the green background look great and really let the bf stand out. Some bf species almost never land with their wings spread....it's the nature of the beast...

Barb, nice detail in the butterfly and good exposure of the yellow color. Lovely species. A classic and fine butterfly image.

I've never been able to get the back side of the wings. They always seem to land with wings folded. A very pleasing color palette and detail, Barb. cool
