One Last Hummer

I won't be posting any more hummingbirds this season, but I wanted to share this one.  Sometimes all the elements seem to come together nicely.  This male Black Chinned hummer came to my flower.  I was hoping for this bird to compliment the purple flower parts with his purple gorget.  While I didn't get as much of the gorget as I was hoping for, even a little was nice.

Canon 5D Mark III
100-400 @ 400
ISO 160, 1/160 @ f/10

4 off camera flashes.  3 for the lighting on the bird, one for the background

This is really nice.  Hard to imagine how it could have been any better.  I'd say the purple gorget shows up well and compliments the flowers.  Full marks on this one!devil

I've enjoyed your hummingbird posts so much and will be sorry to see them go. This is just so perfect and sweet, with the colors all complementing the little guy. Thanks for sharing.

Another awesome Hummingbird shot, Keith. You have really mastered that multi flash technique. Great detail in the Hummingbird and the flowers. Very pleasing background. An all around awesome image!!!

Well conceived and executed, Keith. The color palete is superb.

To me the plant looks too bright in comparison to the hummer. A bit less flash there?

Wow, that little hint of purple gorget is a nice bonus.  I already thought it was great just having the nice mix of colors between the plants and the background.

Very nice all the way around Keith. Love the purples, and the composition and details are spot on. Very nice work, again...

Really beautiful Keith. The comp is terrific, but what really makes this one special IMO is the how the purple flower compliments the gorget on the Black-chinned hummer.
