House Wren

My wife was hanging laundry and walking the cat this morning when this house wren started taking great exception to the cat's presence.  It was so focused on her that it was completely oblivious to me coming out with a camera and taking it's picture.  Unfortunately, while it had the choice of an almost infinite number of nice perches, it moved in a circle from a fence post to a hose to a wire fence to this rebar and around the circle again.  I'm not sure where it came from as we didn't have any nesting here this year that we've seen.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/2500, iso 1250 (left over from some stopped down work yesterday morning), Aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed ibn LR5 & CS6.  Cropped from a horizontal original to a 9.2 MP 4x5 vertical before resizing.  Taken this morning at 8:27 AM under sunny skies.

Comments and criticisms are appreciated.

You certainly see a lot of different birds down on the Prairie there compared to what I see up here on the inlet. I think I've seen one Wren in the last 10 years.  Nice pose and head turn. Good light and color.  We always can't choose our perch or at least make our remote controls work the way we wish.

Nice look at this Wren, Dennis. Congrats getting it to sit still long enough for a shot. Nice looking specimen, all of our Wrens around here are molting right now.

Opinionated little things, aren't they?
Nice pose from this fellow, and very nice BG.

Dennis: fine image of this wren regardless of the perch. The detail in the bird and the oof background are a big plus. Richard

Good eye contact, detail and a complimentary background color.  I do not love the perch.
