Road to Tranquility

This is the road to my sisters cabin (called Tranquility) on a beautiful lake in northern Wisconsin. On this morning I was on an early morning walk down the road with camera and tripod, The light was wonderfully soft after a light rain during the night with a beautiful glow that I only saw for a few minutes. It was by far the best and most enjoyable part of that day. I hope this image captured that feel. Larger version included.
Thanks for looking and any thoughts you may have.

I like the relaxed feel of the scene.  The lighting is wonderful on this healthy growth of trees.  All it needs is a deer, bear, horse or child in red clothing on the road just beyond the curve.

Thanks Patricia. I agree all of those would have been nice additions to the image. I have photographed several deer on this road over time but never when the light and conditions were as nice as this. Now we are seeing bear close to the cabin so maybe a shot like that could happen too. A child in a red coat is a great idea. Sounds like something Jake Olson would do and I love the mood of his photographs. Thanks for the nice comment. Cheers, Nick

Love how the red dirt road invites me to explore around the corner here, Nick.  The brighter trees look especially luscious with their bright soft light glow.  The greens do seem a bit hot, but for some reason this summer in some of my macro work, I've felt that sunlit greens seem especially bright...

Love the lush greens and that window of light in the middle of the frame.

Mark, Harley and Kah, Thanks guys! Much appreciated and happy you enjoyed it. I walk this road several times every time I visit the cabin. It makes a great home base when on photo trips to the north woods. Thank you, Nick

What an inviting, serene scene! The greens just pop and a perfect perspective and crop.

This is spectacular, Nick.  It has a dreamy, orton effect that I don't always love, but it works really well hear and feels completely natural. My only suggestion (and it's entirely disposable ;-) is to do some creative cloning/heal of the bottom left part of the road.  the widened patch of dirt with bright spots pulls me back rather than keeping me ambling down the road with you.

This is such an inviting image, with the glowing green light and road into the photo. Just beautiful, and congrats on the weekly pick.
