Another Cooper's Hawk
by Dennis Plank
Variety in available species seems to be a bit lacking around here right now, but the juvenile Cooper's is still coming by fairly regularly. It's gotten a lot more skittish, which probably bodes well for its long term survival. In this episode a few days ago, I managed all of 6 frames. It had been perched on one of our bird baths and by the time I grabbed my camera and got to a door, it had moved to this perch I set up for the bath. I liked the way the perch framed the bird, but all the browns presented a challenge in getting the bird to pop from the bg.
