Or that's what it looks like this face-off between a couple of Great Blue Heron chicks was about. Thought I'd take a break from the Cooper's Hawk for a few days and ran across this old one from near the Florida trip with Mike Ramy. Photographing these was tricky due to all the other birds and the vegetation, but I think they pop reasonably well in this image.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 361 mm, hand held from boat, f/8, 1/800, iso 800, manual exposure. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped from a horizontal original to a 4x5 vertical of 9.6 MP before resizing. Taken March 29th at 3:53 PM under cloudy skies.

Great job getting both of these juvies tack sharp, Dennis. I like the interaction and really nice that you were able to get a good look at the eyes on both birds. This is a really nice image.

Nice interaction here Dennis, and considering the the shooting conditions I think you did very well. It would have been ideal to have had a more evenly vegetated background, but birds are where you find them and I like this behavioral capture.

Great title on this Dennis. The soft light you had is nice and the poses looking at each other are cool. Details are sharp too and the interaction and habitat add to the image. Nice work.
