Lily Drops

This lily stood out from the pads beneath it. As you can see it was a drizzly day in Southern California, which is a rarity. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Canon 5DIII, f8, 1/30 sec, iso 100, 100-400 ISL at 385. Some selective darkening in the leaves under the flower.

Hi Ed, the Lily is wonderful with great detail and the water droplets setting of the flower wonderfully. My own personal taste (though the image does not need it (!) ... enlightened) would be to follow your artistic feeling further and to darken the leaves (especially under the Lily) much more.  Perhaps more in line with the leaf at say 10 O'clock.

Beautiful water lily accentuated with the water droplets.  Uncluttered, natural background as well.  The lily seems to be floating in air and a little darkening of the underneath lily pads might ground it and eliminate the optical illusion.

Ed: Nice find and a solid capture. I might crop some from the left side to get rid of some of the brown stuff over there but this works very well for me as is. Well done.>=))>

Nicely presented.  The water droplets make this for me.

Ed, the lily is perfection! My trouble with water lilies usually rests in the pads, which are often discolored and plain ugly. I think you have done a good job of neutralizing them here, but I think also that darker still would be better.

A very impressive portrait of the queen of the ponds for lights and colors. About suggestions, I agree with Bill.
