Clamp down

Another from my Great Blue Heron encounter this past week. As I look at the sequence of shots it seems that the combatants are, from what I can tell, a mature vs.  a first or second year bird. I may be wrong on this, and anyone with a thought please feel free to comment on age, but I see one of the birds with a full crown plumage and the other with a less developed crown-which informs my theory.
