Gray Treefrog
by Jim Zablotny
The drought in Southeast Michigan has been severe and we have only received a few minor downpours of rain since June. Jenny found this gray treefrog tucked away in our grill cover on our deck, so I put him to work in a nice shady spot. I cropped a little off the top and left to improve the comp. I toned down the darks, increased the lights, and added a slight adjustment to the midtones for added contrast with curve layer on the luminosity masks for each tonal range. Finally, I used Dfine 2 to reduce the bg noise. K5 IIs, 180 mm f3.5 (1/50sec at f18, ISO 1250).......................................Jim
