Bald Eagle III

I didn't manage to catch an eagle in the moment of hitting the water this year, but I really liked the way the light reflecting off the water worked on this incoming bird.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 468 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/2500, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 7.72 Mp before resizing for the web.  I had been zoomed out for an incoming bird and didn't get zoomed in as much as I would have liked for this one, but it held up to this crop pretty well I think.  Taken June 15th at 6:53 AM.

Comments and criticisms are very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice detail in eagle,  and water too. Beautiful pose for this majestic bird -

No nits from me.  Unusual pose captured beautifully.  Just wish it were mine.

Sometimes I think these are better then "the catch,' - more tension in the shot.  This one is excellent,  Congrats.

Dennis, nice job.  In many ways this is better than a messy splash shot. enlightened  The eagle pops nicely in that light.

Great look of concentration on the Eagles face and I like the tail touching the water, talons out. Well done Dennis!  devil

Good action.  This held up well to a large crop.  Nicely composed with good detail and color.

I love the intense look on this bird's face Dennis, almost as if he knows the fish is in the bag-so to speak. Excellent comp and very nice techs, neat shot.
