Male green iguana

On a recent vacation to Belize, I came across this male green iguana in breeding colors on a river boat ride. It was impressive to see how big they can get. The boatman was in a hurry to get to his destination, so I was able to get only a few images.

400mm, 1/400s@F9, ISO500, -0.83Ev (in post processing), hand-held on a boat.

I love his bright color against the monochrome background.  Exposure looks great with bright subject in a darker setting  and he displays neat texture, too.  The gnarly tree is a bonus and your perspective makes a pleasing composition.  You probably maximized the opportunity resulting in a fine outcome.

Thank you all for your positive comments.

Bill: I agree having the tail out would have been ideal. But the iguana didn't look like he was moving in the short time I was there and I had to be content with just his body profile.

I apologize for not responding right away, but I was out of the country with limited internet access last week and did not see the comments.

Really nice Govind. The colors are amazing and you got great detail in the skin. I think the slight reflection really adds to the overall warmthe of this composition. Congratulations on WP.
