Chobe Elephants

Gallery: Man & FaunaPosted June 18, 2016138 views2 comments
These elephants are standing in shoulder deep water of the Chobe River in Chobe National Park, Botswana and  have come here to feed on the abundant grasses in mid river. Their visit attracted lots of attention. Olympus E-M1, 12-40 lens at 21, 1/1000, f/5.6 and ISO 250.

Love the shot Richard. It is kind of spooky to consider they are so well hidden in the grass here. You potentially would not see them if you were in a smaller craft and that could be disastrous if you upset one of them. Interesting shot with the photo tourists also. Man & Fauna indeed. Thanks for posting this.

I couldn't figure out where was the remainder of the elephants until I read your description. This looks like a gourmet experience, from an elephant's point of view. And the boat & sightseers make it a perfect fit to the gallery - in fact, among the best fits I remember seeing.
